International Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on February 21 across the world to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity as well as multilingualism. It was first introduced by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1999.
This day is observed globally every year on 8 March to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Also, it is an action for accelerating gender parity. Purple is the colour that symbolizes women internationally.
